EVOLVE Introduces vdcOS: Building the Future of VDC for MEP

May 6, 2025 – Atlanta, GA – EVOLVE, the leading software provider for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) prefabrication teams, today announced the launch of vdcOS, a first-of-its-kind operating system designed specifically for Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) teams.

As VDC becomes central to how MEP projects are delivered, vdcOS represents a foundational shift—offering teams a unified platform for collaboration, configuration, and control. This first release lays the groundwork for a system that will evolve alongside its users.

“The MEP industry will double VDC and prefabrication’s share of total labor hours over the next five years,” said Richard Burroughs, President at EVOLVE. “To scale that throughput, VDC leaders need scalable technology. vdcOS brings together the power of Revit, modern web technologies, and EVOLVE’s proven automation tools to meet this moment.”

The initial release of vdcOS introduces several key features:

Centralized Project Configurations for consistency and speed

Roles & Permissions to streamline onboarding and user control

Autodesk Platform Services Integration to connect the shop and the field

While today’s version of EVOLVE Analytics helps leadership understand EVOLVE usage across their team, the broader goal as we continue to shape this functionality in time is to deliver deep, actionable insights that drive smarter decisions across VDC operations.

“vdcOS isn’t just a product update—it’s the start of something bigger,” said Jason Earl, Senior Product Manager at EVOLVE. “We’re building this platform in collaboration with our users, and we’re committed to evolving it together.”

EVOLVE’s vision for vdcOS is clear: to deliver a modern, integrated system that empowers VDC teams to lead with clarity and confidence. While not every piece is built yet, this release is the first step on a roadmap shaped by real-world feedback, real-time needs, and a shared belief in what’s possible.
